About the Project
The Metropolitan Art Museum Extension represents a dialogue between past and present. The design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese garden principles while employing cutting-edge structural techniques. The building appears to float above a reflecting pool, its crystalline form changing appearance throughout the day as light filters through the perforated metal screen.
